Every item on this menu exists because it earned its place. Seasonal, sourced with care, made before dawn.

Espresso & Coffee

Every cup is pulled from our house blend, roasted weekly in small batches from single-origin beans sourced directly from family farms in Ethiopia and Colombia.

Cold Brew & Tea

Our cold brew steeps for 20 hours in filtered water. Teas are sourced from Rishi and brewed to order, never from concentrate.

Pastries & Bread

Baked before dawn each morning. When they are gone, they are gone. Bread is milled from whole grain flour sourced from Cairnspring Mills in Washington State.

Breakfast Plates

Served until 2pm daily. Eggs from Marin Sun Farms, produce from the Saturday farmers market. Everything made to order.

Everything you need to know before your visit.

Our country loaf and seeded rye typically sell out by noon on weekdays and by 10:30am on weekends. Morning buns and croissants often go earlier. We recommend arriving before 9am if you have a specific item in mind, or calling ahead to reserve a loaf.

Yes. We take pre-orders for whole loaves of bread through our online shop for Saturday and Sunday pickup. Pastries are first-come, first-served only and cannot be pre-ordered. Call us at (415) 487-2600 for large orders of 6 or more loaves for events.

Several of our drinks and some breakfast items are naturally gluten-free or vegan, clearly marked on the menu. Our kitchen handles wheat flour constantly, so we cannot guarantee a gluten-free environment for those with celiac disease. We bake with dairy and eggs daily, so we are not a vegan-dedicated kitchen, though we do offer oat and almond milk for drinks.

Our wheat flour comes from Cairnspring Mills in Washington State, milled from heritage grain varieties. Eggs are from Marin Sun Farms in Point Reyes. Butter is Plugra cultured European-style. Produce comes from our Saturday Ferry Plaza Farmers Market sourcing. Coffee is roasted weekly at a partner roastery in the Mission district.

We supply bread to a select number of San Francisco restaurants on a weekly contract basis. We also do catering bread and pastry boxes for events of 20 or more guests. Reach out via email at info@tartinebakery.com with your date and quantities, and we will respond within two business days.

We are open Monday through Friday from 7am to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 4pm. The kitchen closes for hot food orders 30 minutes before close. Holiday hours are posted on our website and Instagram a week in advance.

We have limited indoor seating for about 20 guests, plus outdoor seating on our patio for 12 additional seats, weather permitting. We do not take reservations for cafe seating. The space fills quickly on weekend mornings, so we encourage early arrivals or a midweek visit for a quieter experience.

Street parking is available on Guerrero Street and the surrounding Mission neighborhood blocks, though it can be competitive on weekends. We are directly accessible by BART at the 16th Street Mission station (4 blocks) and served by the 14 and 49 Muni bus lines on Mission Street.
